This book was different. Kat was a bad woman in this book. At first the book really started off slow, but I loved it once it got on and poppin. If you like to read about sex, there was a lot of that in this book, along with a lot of killing and shaddy friends. Some questions were answered about the girl friends and some was not. I felt bad for Kat at the end of the book. But it was a good read.

I’ve always thought that if I have to die, I would definitely like to go out while having mad-crazy, hot, buck naked, wild, 2012 sex. After reading this book… not so much. Katrina is an assassin who is exceptionally good at her job. How she goes about her solo blood shedding is the pulse behind this story. How does she kill her marks? Couple of hints: 1: I alluded to it in my first sentence, and 2: the title. This book is 100% pure street. It’s as ghetto as drinking red Kool-Aid in Harlem during the summer wearing flip-flops, a do-rag, and chillin’ beside a busted fire hydrant! From the surroundings, to the atmosphere, to the language. The language… man! The language was so raw you could see the blood dripping from it, and so real you could taste the truth. The sex was blistering and the drama was plenty.
I will be frank and say that I WAS split as I was reading this book. When Kat was on her grind, getting her back twisted, and racking up bodies, I could not stop reading. When she talked about her life, her girls, and her moms, I wasn’t feeling it at all. Not in a bad way per say, but I wanted to hear more about Kat on her grind and less about her double standard justifications.
All in all this was a sexually charged drama filled book that should keep your attention till the end. I do hope book #2 (I’m assuming there will be a #2) will give us more action from Kat and more from that fool Cash.

Katrina aka Kat took her first life as a teen. From that moment, her thoughts, actions and feelings would push her towards death. And now death is her life, her business, her profession…her pleasure. Kat is a paid killer. She lures men to THE KAT TRAP and then it’s a wrap. She lays them and slays them.
The ruthless, insatiable assassin needs love too. When she meets a fine, sexy brother, is he enough to make her want to change her ways?
THE KAT TRAP was entertaining, raunchy and laugh-out-loud funny. Main character Kat practically leaped from the pages with personality plus. But that was two-fold. At times she was too over the top. A b*tch got tired of reading about what another b*tch was doing or wearing.
The ending was predictable. I had truly hoped that the author would surprise readers and take the ending in another direction other than what was obvious and expected. Unfortunately, he did not. That was rather disappointing and spoiled my overall feel for the book.
Laced with sex, murder and humor, THE KAT TRAP certainly gives you something to talk about. But I’ma keep it cute and end here ’cause a b*tch gotta read!

Katrina, who’s known in the streets as Kat, determined long ago that she wasn’t going to be anything like her negligent, easily distracted mother, Juanita. At an early age, Kat’s welfare fell into her hands, and while she may have had to get her knees dirty in order to facilitate a need, that would be the end of her quid pro quo.
When Cash, a heavy hitter with great connections, glimpses Kat’s bravado, he can sense that they have a lot in common. Cash can’t bear not to have her assisting his team and offers her a lucrative position doing what comes natural to her. While Kat likes to believe that what she’s doing is normal, she knows deep down, that her fascination with how well she performs in her job is twisted. But it’s a living.
The Kat Trap by Cairo is an attention-grabbing read, to say the least. A tad predictable and too friendly with the labels, the story is edgy. The intricacy of the characters and the way the pieces wove together is sure to keep readers reading. I loved Kat and her self- assured and cocky ways. The Kat Trap was a disturbing mix of drama, sex, kinships and friendships that I’d easily recommend to others.
